CFTC Whistleblower Program

Under Section 23 of the Commodity Exchange Act, the CFTC must pay awards to whistleblowers who provide the CEA with original information about violations of the CEA.

The program allows whistleblowers to confidentially submit information regarding violations. The CFTC will not reveal the identity of a whistleblower unless necessary in a public proceeding. Where submissions lead to the successful resolution of a legal or administrative action, then an award can be paid to whistleblowers. Kalshi supports the CFTC whistleblower program and is prohibited from discharging, demoting, suspending, threatening, or harassing any potential whistleblower, pursuant to 17 CFR 165.20.

The CFTC regulations governing the whistleblower program contain specific requirements and assessments to determine the size of a whistleblower award and which types of submissions will qualify. They are available at 17 CFR 165.

How to Submit Information

Whistleblowers can submit information to the CFTC website or to the government's whistleblower website, www.whistleblower.gov.
